We’re Waiting….
Here is the text of the letter we just fired off to AC Management SA to politely ask what the hell is going on with our SAYC AC Challenge.

Re: Our submission of January 15, 2009
Dear Mr. Masmejan,
I write to you today regarding the Sailing Anarchy Yacht Club challenge entry for the 33rd America’s Cup.
Your letter of January 9, 2009 demanded response/submission of 9 items by January 15, 2009. All of the submissions were provided to you by January 15, 2009.
It is now two months later and we have not been provided the courtesy of a response. Our last contact with you occurred on February 10th in Albany NY, at which time you advised Alan Block that you would be responding “within a matter of days”.
One must wonder Mr. Masmejan, why such urgency was attached to the production of entry documents, yet there is no reciprocal urgency attached to providing a response. Surely there has been enough time to review the submission.
Since our finalized submission, ACM has held several competitors’ meetings to which we have not been invited, placing us at great disadvantage to other entrants who have been able to participate and represent their challenges with respect to important issues. Any further delay to respond to our challenge entry can only be interpreted as a deliberate anti-competitive act meant to hobble our challenge.
As there has been sufficient time to review our entry we must demand that we receive a response within 4 business days from today (March 25, 2009) as this was the time allotted for us to respond to your January 9, 2009 letter.
Sincerely,
Scot Tempesta
Commodore, Sailing Anarchy Yacht Club.
