Cheap and Easy – the Anarchist Way
Thanks to L_Z and Yachtscoring as well as our co-host the Fort Pierce Yacht Club, we’ve finally got the CHAWS regatta registration up and running. You’ll remember that this is Sailing Anarchy Yacht Club’s First Annual (that’s Spanish for “inaugural”) Regatta, and the formal title is now the Sailing Anarchy Invitational Sportboat Regatta – though CHAWS still sounds better.
We still don’t know whether we will see 13 or 113 entries, and we certainly don’t know whether we’ll have strong one-design action or crazy handicap sportboat mayhem, but we do know this: 6 boats are already registered, the booze is waiting for us, our PRO and R/C are ready for action, and Anarchist “Shisayo” has blocked off a big mess of rooms in his excellent (and very affordable) Dockside Inn & Resort where the boats will be berthed. So whether you have a Hobie Tiger or a Flying Tiger, a Laser or a Viper, a shitbox or a lunch box, it’s time to make your plans, book your room, and let’s go racing in the big breeze and big waves that March always brings to this part of Florida.
For pics and info about about the venue, weather conditions, hotel, booze, and our plans for this cheap, fun weekend of sport and not so sportboat racing, check out the thread. And sign your asses up. It’s just one weekend, and “the economy” just won’t wash as an excuse for this one. Registration includes dockage, tons of swag giveaways, and at least one full-blown party, and costs $50 for 20′ and under, $100 for up to 24′, and $150 for anything over 24′. Can’t beat that.
