Win for Nick
SKUD 18 sailors Scott Whitman and Julia Dorsett, who took another two Rolex OCR bullets yesterday, are out to "win it for Nick” (Scandone), the SKUD 18 Paralympic Gold Medallist in China, who recently lost his battle with ALS. Whitman and Dorsett had been his training partners.
Another US pair, Geoff Ewenson and crew Skip Dieball, are doing a great job in the Star class, especially as they are new to the boat. Ewenson, better known for his prowess in the Finn class, switched to the Star when the boat became available to him for this event. "I had had it in my mind that I’d like to do it and, with the Finn, I was spending too much time seeing a chiropractor; it’s a beastly boat and I’m not getting any younger."
