Remember This?
it’s Groupama 3, on its way back to the Multiplast yard, last April, after suffering catastrophic failure and flipping during an attempt on the round the world record. Now Cammas’ maxi-trimaran has new, beefed up floats and is set to be relaunched in 30 days time. On this year’s program are three record attempts: Mediterranean crossing Marseilles – Carthage in May (held by Orange II, which took 17hr 56 mn to cover 458 nm); North Atlantic crossing in July (held by Groupama 3); Jules Verne Trophy from 1st November (held by Orange II in 50 d 16h and 20 mn at an average of 17.89 knots).
