Hurricane Season 2008
The 2008 Hurricane season here in the Northern hemisphere comes to a close today and none too soon for those who were directly affected by the numerous storm systems that ravaged parts of the Caribbean, Gulf Coast and Atlantic Shorelines. The total amount of energy released this season was this highest since records began being kept more than 150 years ago with a numeric figure of 141. That amounts to about 45% more energy than is released in a typical year.
New Orleans, Houston/ Galveston, and Cayman Brac as well as the Turks and Caicos were ravaged by severe hurricanes this season as well. Sailing Anarchy Forum Member USA1234 seemed to be a hurricane magnet as storm after storm seemed to seek her out and force an end to her business plans almost everywhere she went in the Caribbean.
