Up and Away
85 degrees with ample wind at about 10 – 12 knots and very flat seas, great day to go make a few images of the Oracle DOG boat. Today they did lots of sail changes and ran for a while at the end of the day with a reef. The wind never really got more than 12 kts – but they seemed to be fully powered as they exploded to full speed from a dead stop in just a few seconds. Their support crew were really nice to us and let us get very close. Except for once when they wanted to head up for a tack. When they did head up, it was shocking how fast they got on the other board and were heading right for us. Ooops. The day ended with this nice shot of the San Diego skyline under the flying hull and a resting crew. More to come next week. – Anarchist Squid.
