Mudheads Rule!

weekend "Dark ‘n Stormy" and a crew of Mystic River Mudheads
sailed to Greenport, NY intent on winning the Brooklyn Ocean Challenge
Cup. This Cup is the second oldest in this country, the oldest is the
America’s Cup. After 30 years on the beach, the Chinese Yacht Club and
Old Cove Yacht Club have returned the Cup to competition. The BOCC was
created in 1904 when the Brooklyn Yacht Club late William Randolph Hearst,
then Commodore of the Brooklyn Yacht Club, donated a magnificent silver
trophy for open ocean racing to the prestigious Brooklyn Yacht Club. The
first race, from New York to Hampton Roads, Virginia, took place on June
29th 1905 and was won by the yawl, Tamerlane, of the New Rochelle Yacht
Club. More detail on BOCC history here including a list of past winners.
