Round Up

Swans in a Spin
Anyone
who says watching sail racing is boring should have been at the Rolex
Swan Cup on Friday. The day dawned so still that guys were playing water
polo, in absolutely flat water, off Porto Cervo and the Race Committee
kept everyone ashore for an hour and a half, before heading out in the
hope of finding the promised breeze.
It came around 3 pm, a gentle 10 knots stirring ripples in the calm.
Then the wind built slowly until, on the first run of the second Swan
45 race, it went from 25 knots to around 40 in an instant! Kurt Arigo
was on hand to record the spinnakers going a-flying. This one’s
our favorite,
there are more here. If you want to know how things ended up read it here.
