Thankfully there are a lot of people with too much time on their hands – every now and again, they come up with something useful – and free.

We just learned of this comprehensive on-line racing rules quiz, which takes the good UK Sails rules quiz a step further. It seems to be pretty accurate and bug-free, and is a great flash-card style way to memorize everything you need to know for your next J/105 regatta.

For our more cruising-oriented friends, or those studying for Master’s licenses there’s NavRules, a stellar program that has been helping mariners memorize light and sound signals since the first edition came out more than a decade ago.
