Wins

Starting in a cold, cold damp gray fog in aprox 15 knots, the 18’s got
off the line 400 feet west of the Golden Gate in superb form, kites set
and planning en masse. World champs 7 led from the start and pulled into
a commanding lead 1/2 way down the course. The Skiffs were able to sail
a more direct, deeper course than in other years…hitting the "
washing machine" just south of Alcatraz, 7 augers into the cold brine
and Howard Hamlin emerges from
the pack, sailing on to the 1st Skiff victory in the Bridge to Bridge
in years…And finally a victory for team USA on their home court in the
2008 18′ Skiff championships! – Erik
Simonson.
