iNavX – a bit of iPhoneWe’re guilty of being total gadget freaks, our lives powered by RIM, Apple, Panasonic, Sanyo, Samsung, Canon, Sony, Garmin, Sirius and Western Digital. We couldn’t do our job without all these gadgets, so when something comes along that consolidates a couple of tools, we pass the word along. Our buddy Hyerstay posted up on the new iNavX – a bit of iPhone software that retails for $49.99, and that turns your 3G iPhone into a fully functioning navigation program complete with detailed marine charts and tide/current data. It uses the iPhone’s built-in GPS as well as cell-signal triangulation for positioning, while it grabs charts and other data from the web over the iPhone’s 3G data link or a Wi-Fi connection. If you’re a geek like we are, take a peek at the thread for more.
