Ian Walker’s Irish-crewed, Chinese-funded Green
Dragon Volvo 70 set off for her 2000 NM qualification trip on Friday
morning. Leaving from Cork, Walker and a crew that includes Justin Slattery,
Damian Foxall, and Neal Macdonald will have to deal with some nasty
North Atlantic weather, as well as some ‘green’ crew from red China
– three young pups that are trying to land the single RTW spot
that Walker has reserved for one Chinese citizen. It’s good to see some
Emerald Isle action in the Volvo, though it looks like the second Irish
entry – Ger O’Rourke’s Chieftain bunch – is dead and buried unless
they win the lottery within the next few days. Here’s the latest from
