Bow
Down

Racing started an hour early in today’s iShares final day of racing.
For safety reasons, the race committee decreed there would be no fifth
men and announced its intention to try to get in 8 short races. Those
who had been destined to be 5th men on Oracle and JP Morgan probably breathed
a sigh of relief as BMW Oracle/Cammas and JP Morgan capsized in the 2nd
race of the day. Cammas’ team managed to get the boat upright and
racing again, but JPM broke the rig and had to be towed home. Jimmy Spithill
was in fine form, taking 4 straight wins for BMW Oracle, whilst the leader,
Alinghi, was decidedly off song in those races. Speaking of which, what
kind of song is this? "Hang on Sloopy" perhaps?
In the end though, the Alinghi team got its act together and won the
fifth race. The organisers decided race 6 would be the last and, therefore,
the double pointer. Team Origin took the win, but Alinghi managed to
hold on to 2nd and took the Cowes event. Origin had the consolation
of holding onto its overall Championship lead by just one point! This
