Blow Out

Tour
de France

No,
not the cycling. This year, the Mumm 30 version goes down the French
Atlantic coast, from Dunkerque to Royan, then the boats go over land
to St Cyprien, near the Spanish Med border, before racing round the
Med to Hyères.

With pros, amateurs and students racing these tricky boats there are
always thrills and spills, but right now the organisers have kept the
fleet in the port of Granville waiting for a gale to abate. It isn’t
so much the Force 7 at Granville that worries them, as the 27 knot winds
and 4 metres waves at Perros Guirrec, the next port of call. More pix
