Speaking of Chicks…

Porto Cervo, Sardinia is the playground of the super-rich, and let’s just say the scenery is wonderful in every way. As a bonus to those of you who’ve been watching our On-The-Water Anarchy report from the Melges 24 World Championship, we’ve put together a little “hotties of Cervo” thread to give y’all a peak at the talent down here.

Sunday’s racing was as crazy as you’d expect at an event of these proportions, with uber-intense competition, totally wacked out breeze, and posh après-sail cocktails. On both of two courses, wind speed ranged from 4 to 18 knots – at times during the same leg, and shifts were all over the shop. It took guys with the PRO skills of Hank Stuart and Luigi Reggio to keep it all together, but the conditions definitely shook up quite a few top teams – unfortunately, including our pal (and employer) Simon Strauss on Sevenstar SLAM and On-The-Water Anarchy partner Joe Fly, both of which sit outside the top 30. Alberto Bulzan is driving Pilot Italia with Pietro D’Ali calling tactics, and he’s well out in front after two races with a 1,2, but not without drama. Bulzan was scored DNF after the second race, and after getting ashore, he encouraged the RC to check their tapes. Some frantic reviewing of the notes proved the issue to be a minor screwup by the RC. Bulzan ripped at the Pre-Worlds, with three bullets in three races, and he’s showing that superstition about pre-worlds races is just that. Full Results here.

Now that it’s Monday, y’all can sit back and enjoy two more races tomorrow, and two more every day until Friday, during our live coverage from Sardinia in On-The-Water Anarchy, brought to you by Ullman Sails. Come early, stay late.
