four days in paradise, the Brasil Sailing Cup came to a close for us on
a positive note, despite not reaching the semi finals. With some pretty
good races under our belts and a lot of experience gained, as well as
a confirmed entry into Match Cup Sweden in June, we left Brazil feeling
as if we had made some pretty good steps towards gaining a spot on the
World Match Racing Tour.
Round Robin saw some fiery matches; however it wasn’t until the Quarterfinals
when things really began to get intense. Being third in Group A from the
Round Robin, we were paired up against Shosholoza skipper Paolo Cian who
had shown his strength in the previous weeks. It turned out that this
experience would be the deciding factor for us as Cian’s team lead closely
in both races to advance through to the next stage.
