While
we were writing about Antigua Classic week yesterday, we thiught you should
know about Mike Rose. He has been the voice of the Antigua Classic Week
RC on the VHF for many years. He was attacked in his home about 2 weeks
ago, stabbed 4 times and spent nearly a week in the hospital. He is now
recovering at home, but isn’t able to carry on his RC duties this year.
The Royal Naval Tot Club of Antigua and Barbuda, of which Mike is President,
has raised a reward of $120,000EC for the capture and conviction of the
attacker. All the racers and the Tot Club, which coordinates many of the
Classic Week events including the Parade of Classics, wish Mike a speedy
recovery and look forward to hearing him again on the VHF at next years
Classic Week.
