Wind, No Wind

Very
freaky for the Olympic types in Mallorca today. Sailors and Princess Sofia
regatta organisers were expecting a strong south westerly, but got a strong
northerly that gave the Yngling course 18 knots and the 49ers a weakening
medium breeze, but failed to reach the Finn course forcing the racing
committee to abandon the first race of the day. Meanwhile the Tornados
were enjoying a totally different wind from the west!

German
Petra Niemann (Laser Radial) looks the likely winner of the Trofeo Princesa
Sofia, which goes to the sailor or team with the least points in a fleet
of a minimum of 20 boats. Right now, Petra is discarding a 1st!

Marina
Alabau and Alessandra Sensini are conserving a safe margin in the RS:X
regatta and Ben Ainslie looks set to win the Finns, but it’s still
tigh in the other class. Full report & pic link here.
