blooper

Well
Defined

blooper
n : an embarrassing mistake [syn: blunder, bloomer, bungle, foul-up, fuckup,
flub, botch, boner, boo-boo].

Boy they sure named this sail correctly didn’t they? Those of you who
sailed in the IOR days will remember the funny looking sail to the above
right. As bizarre as they were, it was amazing how much they helped the
rolly IOR boats. I used to sail on a N/M 44 named Travieso and
in a little breeze, we’d throw the bloop up and sail that thing steep
and deep. Good times! Thanks to Peter
Lyons
for this great shot of a Moore 24 blooping it, for whatever
reason.
