"Here’s
the Bad News…"

Okay
we’re probably naive and certainly dim, but reading that "West
Marine, Inc. (NASDAQ:WMAR) will hold a webcast and conference call on
Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 8:30 AM Pacific Time to discuss the fourth
quarter and fiscal year 2007 results and 2008 earnings guidance"
seems a bit strange to us. What’s to gain from sharing a fair bit of bad
news with people? To show a new direction for the company? A new
"open" policy? A little PR? Whatever.
