now IDEC and Sodeb’O are both averaging around 20 knots. Francis Joyon
is in the Pacific, trying to get away from a ridge of high pressure that
is stopping him exploiting IDEC’s full potential. Thomas Coville is in
somewhat warmer climes, in the Atlantic, making good time compared to
Ellen MacArthur, but no doubt hoping for stronger trade winds if he is
to reach the Equator sooner than his rival, who took 6 days 17 hours.

lousy), but nothing to relate Coville & Joyon’s progress. French site
Adonnante announced it would show all three, but it hasn’t worked out
so far. Plenty to talk about though right
