Contender, a sexy little single-handed trapezing dinghy, is celebrating
its 40th anniversary this year, and clearly the Contender sailors are
ready to commemorate this awesome boat. This year’s Worlds, being held
in Medemblik, North Holland, and organized by the Royal Yacht Club Hollandia,
has over 155 entries! (Not counting a certain Canadian, who accidentally
registered twice, but assures us he won’t be paying twice.)

From July 13-15, boats are being measured and practice races will take
place. Then the chaos will start on July 16 and run to July 20. In order
to accommodate this many competitors, the organizers have wisely split
the fleet into two (but 75 boats on the start line will still be chaos).
