Joel White designed the Sakonnet 23 to be a family daysailer and a fast club racer all packaged as a classic double ender. The shoal draft of 22", with the centerboard up, allows for gunkholing and beaching. The custom build allows for an additional 6" of freeboard and a small cuddy shelter complete with a Port-a-Potti head. The surveyor commented, "Nice job of boat building." This boat was gifted to the Door County Maritime Museum to sell for fundraising purposes.
