bush gladThe seemingly never-ending “Sailing/Industry/Circle jerk/ Glad handing circuit continues, this time for the Sail America Industry Meeting. We understand free entrance will provided to those journalists who can give the fastest handy to completion to the biggest “name” in sailing they can kiss up to. (Sorry Craig, no using your mouth this time).

This is ostensibly the for the US Sailboat Show Best in Show awards Show to be presented at industry breakfast Show and we have to wonder what Big Time “personality” they’ll get to headline? Perhaps some third-rate “motivational/up with people/everything is awesome” paid PR hack? Or maybe a washed-up “Sailing Industry Professional” who will implore the troops that “We, as an industry, must change or die” type of drivel? (sorry Dawn, you already did that last time).

Regardless, these things always make us laugh and then make us fart in their general direction, not because we aren’t invited to the party and won’t get to do shitty coke in the bathroom that night, no it is is simply because of the sheer ridiculous nature of the notion and near total ineffectual result. Unless you think that glad-handing is a worthwhile endeavor.

But you keep stroking it, Sail America, because we sure have fun watching.
