hip down/tri up

Transpac 2013

The SC 50 Horizon continues to dominate Div 6 in Transpac, but our faithful Hipster is hurting…

Sorry about not writing; 2 problems. Computer writing program not behaving properly. Bringing in data fine…emails out very difficult. Curser is bouncing all over the place, fucking up royally.

Problem 2, I’ve injured my right hip, I’m off rotation, mainly in my bunk, quite painful, full of Vicodin ..doing my weather thing and routing the boys. If it gets better i’ll send something out.

Meanwhile, the big tri Lending Club is ripping right along. The latest from Ryan Breymaier:

“We have had a great first evening onboard Lending Club.  We had up to 22 knots of breeze during the night giving us a jump on the routings  as we seem to be much faster than indicated by the grib files.

Life onboard goes well. Last night we had a treat of lobster mac and cheese from Gladstones Restaurant (and again this morning for me). Though we have some acclimatization problems things are better this morning – this boat is a beast and is a new experience for some of our crew, especially at night.

Top speed so far 30 knots :)

Right now we’ve got flat seas and the famous Pacific overcast sky. We are 10 hours from the group that started on Thursday.

We are already onto the reaching gennaker, and looking forward to getting the Whomper up in a day’s time.”

Track em here.
