A strong wind, forecast for the coastal point of Finistère tomorrow, has meant that the Mini Fastnet race directors have had to cancel the Prologue, scheduled for Saturday, and to delay the start of this 28th edition until Monday morning (instead of the original start of 4pm on Sunday).
A wise decision, recognised as such by all the 116 competitors due to take part in the 2013 Mini Fastnet.
The latest weather reports have only confirmed what everyone had suspected over the last few days: a low pressure system is passing over Brittany’s coastal point on Saturday and Sunday, creating strong winds of 25 knots with additional gusts leading to very choppy seas out in the Channel. More.
